Had a great stay! Loved the pickleball court! They have a really nice pool and lazy river that are both heated, and don't forget to check out the hot tub! Their store is really nice, and you can even get your favorite frozen adult drink there! We had a paw pen site and loved it!! Very dog friendly place, we walked our fur babies around the park and got to meet several other fur babies owners. Would highly recommend this park!
This is a wonderful KOA, literally right across the street from the beach. There are a variety of sites and cabins here, and lots to do with your children or pets. There is a lazy river (you need your own floats) and an amazing pool. The sites are all flat and paved. The entrance to the beach is a short drive or walk up the road. Vehicles are permitted on the beach as are dogs.
The location is a good 30 minute drive from galveston, which I see as the only drawback. IT was very quiet it here and the sunrises over the gulf were amazing.
We rented a lot with the small dog park. This was a nice feature for early in the AM trips, or when we were sitting out in the evening. It comes with bags.
The staff was very friendly and when we decided to extend our stay they gave us a 25% discount which was awesome.
I didn't actually stay at the campground, but my brother and his wife did. When I went for a visit, the staff was very friendly. The campground was well kept and very clean. They had showers and laundry which my brother and wife used during their stay. They had a party area for the kids, and it was simply inviting. My brother and his wife camp a lot and they love staying at a KOA location. Now I understand why.
This is one of the cleanest parks we have stayed in. It was mostly empty in our section but sites are spaced out very well, staff are super friendly and there are planned activities every day. We were only there 4 nights but went to a happy hour and trivia night. It had a great pool, lazy river and hot tub. All were operational even in December. Galveston is 20 minutes away. We would definitely stay here again. Monthly rates are $750 to $950 depending on size but we didn't see any poor sites at all. Wifi is sketchy further from the office but we used our Starlink. We camped at Galveston Island KOA Holiday in a Motorhome.
Overall this is a nice campground that's clean and does seem to have a lot of amenities for children which is to be expected from a KOA.
The location is quite far out from Galveston which may or may not be a good thing depending on one's preferences. I prefer to be no further out than the Jamaica Beach area so I find the extra drive out here a slight negative as it's far from most anything apart from the beach!
Staff were very nice and the pools were not overly packed so as to not be unenjoyable.
The sites and the park overall has little opportunity for finding shade which is somewhat understandable given that the island isn't exactly known for lush tree canopies. In fairness to the park I'm not sure the park could add much to provide shade since it's too windy to add umbrellas to the site benches, etc.
The price was very reasonable compared to nearby parks especially for what you get so I would stay again!
This is one of the nicest KOAs we've ever stayed at. The spots were all concrete and gave you lots of room with a picnic table and pit.
There was plenty of staff around you could always see somebody in their bright yellow KOA shirt.
The place was kept immaculately clean. Lots of activities for the kids and adults.
It was also nice having the pool and lazy river if one got too crowded you could just go to the other. They also had covered seating at both pool areas to get you out of the sun.
The store upstairs had a lot of things for your camp and more including margaritas and daiquiris. And the prices were very reasonable.
You can also borrow equipment from them for their cornhole games, ping pong, and all kinds of others.
They also have a play area for kids with a bounce pad
This is our definite spot we will be camping at any time we go to Galveston.
We stayed here this spring and came back in September. Staying 2 months this time. Love the lazy river, pool hot tub and their frozen adult beverages!!!
We are full time campers and are thrilled they gave us a great price for our 2 month stay. We love our KOA'S!!
Lucked out and got a last minute spot for Memorial Day Weekend 2023. When we arrived, we were greeted by one of the staff members and since we had pre-checked, didn’t even have to get out of the truck. We were quickly escorted to our site, which was awesome! It was a standard site, had plenty of room for our 27’ pop up, was recently mowed and super clean. The staff was very friendly and we appreciated them checking wristbands and car tags and enforcing quite time as we were there to to have a nice, enjoyable weekend. The showers and restrooms are private and well maintained. There is plenty to do at the park and I appreciated the all of the red white and blue on display. Awesome stay, awesome people, awesome KOA. We WILL be back!
